From the Past! Quote:Author bwdavis Posted 01/31/2012 11:58 pm Sample of old album page for these varieties. Note - catalog numbers are what they were when the album was created, not what they are now. Scott minor numbers have changed over the past 25 years. My old 1989 Scott Canada Specialized is different than the present Unitrade catalog. Apart from the $ it shows TWO types of paper clearly! |

I am delighted, as always to see the discussion and additional information presented about the perforations of these stamps. It is amazing how much more interesting your stamps can become when you start looking beneath the surface and attempt to actually answer basic questions about how the stamps were printed. With regards to the perforating, I do believe that an H comb was used by CBN for sure. I think it may be possible that for the BABN sheets, a harrow comb may have been used, as I don't see the irregularity of spacing between the perforation holes as on the CBN printings. This is an example of a question that we would probably have to settle by researching the printer's archives. |

Chris, Finding affirmation in the files is great, but from my own experience I know that often the archives won't offer you more than you already know! For me it is settled that the CBN used an H-shaped comb at least for the stamps I showed. Maybe not for all in that size?! Anyhow, the large size National Parks also show proof of of an H-shaped comb! https://goscf.com/t/65546&whichpage=8#577514Rein |

That's cool Rein! I had not noticed these misalignments on the 1977-82 issue. Thanks for pointing this out! |
