Stamps Attached With Propaganda Stickers?

I found this in the 10 cent loaner bag I have right now from my local stamp shop. The sender talks about the Nazi's as he or she lived through that time. Then I decided to take a look at how they attached the stamps to the letter....




Looks like propaganda stickers? It has "HEERES" on the top and "NACHRICHTENDIENST" on the bottom. I haven't checked this out yet.

Interesting. It appears they used labels from the Foreign Intelligence Service (Austrian Army) as hinges!

Tom is correct, I should have been more clear in my reply.

Those are real German stamps. I was referring to the HEERES NACHRICHTENDIENST labels that were cut in half, folded, and used as hinges to affix the German stamps to the letter.

OOps, I meant to say german stamps with Austrian labels cut in half. Sorry, am babysitting my 3 month old grandson and was in a hurry. Thanks again nr and khj!

This revenuestamp (or whatever it exactly is) shows a swastika and the German oneheaded eagle that is typical of the nazi-period so I find it unlikely that this is an Austrian label / stamp.
