My sister-in-law found this post card in her house. While the stamp is unspectacular, what would the on-cover value be these days? My 2012 Unitrade catalogue suggests $3.00.

Alternatively, would it be better to attempt to sell this as a post card rather than a philatelic item?

The postcard image and postmark are worth more than the stamp. The stamp itself while it may have a $3 catalog value can be found on postcards and covers in dealer's dollar boxes quite frequently. It's a very common stamp. It probably would sell better in postcard category a the postmarks are incomplete whereas the early image of the town is more interesting.
