cjac,
what is it about the Pmk that suggests Italy
It would be unusual if not a Brazilian mark.

Wild Guess: Salamanca ? (Spain)

Brazil : 17,862 places begin with "S"
Only 3 have "Sala" Non match.

ITALY Only 2 Match
SALA CONSILINA
SALA CONSILNA

rod222,
I think it's italian because of the date.
"LUG" is the italian short for LUGLIO (July). In brazilian portuguese it would be JUL (Julho).

But your guess "Sala Consilina" is a good start. I will search information about it...

Thanks!!

Great work Claudio,
I am flattered by your suggestion of "Guess", however...
I merely took the best match from a name database.

Thank you for taking the time to post the results of your search, well done you.

I wonder how that event took place.

rod222,

my English is not very good so I may have used the word "guess" the wrong way. I meant suggestion!

Could you share your source for name database?

Foreign postmarks on Brazilian stamps are usually accidental. That is, rare to happen. Therefore, I believe that this may be one of the few that exist from this locality. I myself had never seen another like this ...

I collect these kind of stamps, and they're pretty hard to find. From Italy I only have three more ... Two from Milan (Milano) and one with the inscription "Abbonato"

My best regards,

Claudio
