The first picture clearly shows that the stamp isn't a Prussian blue, even though the next picture that comes with a PTS certificate shows the correct Prussian blue stamp. Could this be a fake cert? I find this ebayer somewhat dodgy.

This is the ordinary stamp and the real prussian blue for comparison. Tagula's copy below is clearly not a Prussian blue...

No, I do not think so. You see the cert and get another. ebay is not the forum to buy very expensive stamps in my humble opinion.

If I were to get this stamp, I would get it in person and wouldn't risk buying online.

Interesting price. A "fairly lightly mounted mint" copy with 2018 RPS cert sold at Somerset Stamp Auctions for £5,000 on Saturday.

Did it occur to you that the scan does not show the correct color? PTS cert looks okay at a glance; perhaps you suspect there is a conspiracy between seller and the PTS? Your scan color is a bit off, too, from what I'm seeing. It would be a rather sloppy thing for the seller to not display a better color, but they might just be depending on buyers being more concerned with the cert. Stuff also happens.

Further, exactly what is so dodgy about the seller based on his ebay stats shown?

Stratospheric prices abound on ebay. Take it or leave it. Pointing a finger at sellers does no good for anyone.

Not doubting the PTS cert, but are you ruling out the possibility that the stamp the seller is selling may not be the one that is being certified?

Hi all,
I stumbled across your forum discussing the authenticity of this stamp, and wanted to address the so called 'expert' opinions out there on my sg456a Prussian blue. Admittedly - my camera had not done the stamp any justice whatsoever (my bad - I hope the above pic shows it`s colour more clearly to all the doubters out there). I bought it a few years back from a well known dealer/company with more knowledge than I care to imagine, so maybe 'pennyblackie' would like to cast their expert eye over it once again -)
Happy hunting - AJ (www.tagulabluestamps.com)

I'd definitely love to see a more clear photo of the certificate as, despite the blurred image, the perfs don't consistently match the photo of the stamp itself imo. But it's quite blurry so a better cert photo on the website would be splendid - in the name education and friendly discussion, of course.

Just searched for the Prussian Blue on ebay. Yikes!! there sure are a lot listed. I note a mint pair, several used, singles etc. for a $20K stamp I am amazed at the number listed.
