What Are Some USA And Great Britain, "Sleepers"

What stamps that are fairly easy to get now are considered a good investment for the future? I said USA or Great Britain but from wherever. Thank you.

To invest in stamps, and earn positive returns, you need a large wallet & extraordinary knowledge & expertise.

Typically, the 'investment' worthy stamps are extremely rare; of extraordinary high quality; or both!

Take a look at Siegel auctions. Look at the results of the recent William Gross sale, just for starters. These are the types of items that tend to increase in value over time.

Be warned: stamps are not a perfect market, and just like any other investment, the chances for losing money is high.

For example, lots of money has been chasing Chinese stamps in recent years. Will this turn out to be a good investment? Don't know yet - check back in about 10 years...maybe?!

There have been lots of folks paying big money for perfect/high grade common stamps - some in plastic slabs! Will that be good? I doubt it - but again - let's reserve judgement for a few more years & see what happens...

Any suggestion of a specific stamp - or country - has little meaning. The condition & price of the item would have a large impact on the ultimate return. A set of MNH Zepps would be a great investment if it cost you $500; if it's $3500, much less attractive...

I would say look for those gb and US error stamps from a few decades ago and China cultural Revolution stamps that are limited in quantity. Gb classics also do hold their value and demand tends to be consistent. For investment, having a low quantity floating in the market is a good starting point. Once these available stocks have been fully sold out in the market, the upward movement in price will solely be based on future demand. I have mentioned before that there are many stamps which are much rarer than an inverted Jenny, but less popular.

From a practical side you could try to obtain some newer stamps that have relatively or substantially low issue quantities, but the demand side of the equation means there is no guarantee....

Again, none are considered good investments for the future. Lets be clear and unequivocal.
