I haven't read the entire thread so you can skip my comments if they are duplicative of others before.

I deal with 2 brick and mortar dealers. As far as price is concerned, catalog is a general guide. The prices I pay are based on what I view the stamp's quality, my desire to own that specific stamp, and its ready availability.

On top of that I value the brick and mortar dealers for their experience, insights, expertise, available supplies, advice and relationships. If they went away, I would lose a lot more than just a potential % shaving of catalog pricing.
