Hi there! Most people call me Finny. I'm a college student in Indiana who recently got into the joy of stamps over the last two months. After visiting my first antique mall and purchasing a small stamp album for sale, I became hooked on the intricacies of old classic US stamps, and have been in that realm for the past couple months. Admittedly, my start was similar to some of the one-timers you see on here: treasure hunting for the rare stamps, and thinking you have one in your possession with every trip.
While I'm still into the thrill of the hunt, I believe at this point I've done enough research to know better, and have found added interests in the historical components of stamps and covers/postcards. While I'm relatively new to the pastime, I hope to be similar to some of those older than me on here when I reach the age. I'm always ears to learn from those wiser than me on the hobby!
The thing that excites me the most at the moment is sifting through postcards at antique shops and malls. My newest additions are the one cent franklin perf 12 vert and the one cent franklin blue paper, both which I found in a small antique shop in my former college town. And, slightly out of context to my interests above, this German postcard I've found has some of the most elegant handwriting I've ever seen!
