I am trying to identify a 30 cent Bison with a horizontal Pittsburgh precancel. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

It's my understanding that all stamps are cancelled along the narrow width. Thanks for the welcome sorry for the typo Scott #569 |

I don't really collect precancels, but that is certainly true of the ten horizontally-oriented definitives with precancels that I have, some of which are of similar vintage (4th Bureau Issue). Your bison definitely seems to deviate from the norm. |

Stampman,
Just wondering if the "North Hudson, Ind" cancellation on the 20 cent Golden Gate is a box killer and not a precancel? |

Oops...That is indeed a boxed cancel, not a precancel. This is what happens when you mix whiskey and replying to posts |

Interesting stamp, I like the dot at the bottom of the 2nd T in STATES. Probably would classify as an EFO, and might be a constant plate variety. |
