Any of you know how to obtain any of the new New Zealand Postal Stationery Envelopes? I went to their webpage and they sell them in packets of 100 each, and there are 10 or so different covers. That is NOT the most advantagous way of dealing with the topic. I am asking if anyone in NMew Zealand knows of a cheaper way of dealing with this. Also the rest of the South Pacific countries are into the same thing.
Your not alone. I am looking to obtain the newer issue stamps of Christmas Island only from Australia and the $10 postage fee outweighs the price of the few stamps.
I am surprised that the New Zealand post office does not have a philatelic department that is set up to cater to individual collectors such as yourself. I would start by trying to find who is the appropriate person in their philatelic department and writing to them of your needs just to confirm that they no longer welcome individual customers who want to buy their new issues.
The best way after that is to find a stamp collector who lives there and is willing to become a pen pal with you and who will send you such things from his/her country to you while you send similar things from your country to them. This is how many collectors of stamps and stationery from different countries get started. Stamps collector societies and clubs or also internet forums are a good place to start looking for someone who would like to become your stamp collecting pen pal.
The next best way is to locate a stamp dealer in the country of your interest and let them know of your desires and make arrangements to buy new issues from them. This can be a bit more expensive since they need to make a profit, but it is a simple business arrangement that many dealers will welcome since you would be a steady customer.
