#1041 Stamp Ceremony Book & FDC April 8 & 9 1954

Turned this up the other day and have not had much luck on the booklet and got to wondering if they are uncommon or not? The first day cover from April 9, 1954 and the letter were taped in and paper pulled up under the cover when someone got to it before me.

Are there Stamp Ceremony presentation sets for every stamp, or mid 20th C. on? Or was this unusual due to being the first with In God We Trust on it so they made it a bigger deal? Thanks RnC

Oops, wanted to add that searching this stamp lead me to Arago at the Smithsonian which was incredibly helpful. Curious how useful other find it to be?

The ceremony is described in the June 1954 issue of The Bureau Specialist - including mention of the presentation albums. The specific recipient on the album above was not mentioned by name.

So does every stamp get the presentation ceremony treatment? Or do booklets like this exist for most/all stamps in the US - even from just this time period?

Most modern stamps would, but what collectors and catalog makers call a listable new catalog number may be quite different than what the USPS would call a new variety. The USPS is running a mail delivery business first. Definitive follow-up varieties often did not have any special ceremonial release.
