This could be described as a center line strip of 4 with two superb stamps and two badly damaged stamps. What is the sum of 98 * 2 + 10 * 2? I get a grade of 54.

Harvey Bennett is a master of the superlative -

"THE QUINTESSENTIAL TYPE IIIA PLATE 4 PAIR- IMPOSSIBLE TO IMPROVE UPON"

Although not necessarily wrong, I did laugh out loud when I saw that description once.

My favorite today is from Siegel

5c Deep Blue, Buffalo Balloon (CL1). Schoendorf Type III with plate flaws including large white blob in "E" of "Five", unused (no gum), large margins except clipped bottom right corner, thin spots and creases, Extremely Vile, apparently dropped from the balloon and used by squirrels as nesting material, with 2018 P.F. certificate (Image)

Funny, I was thinking the same thing. I'm sure I've seen a similar Easter Egg in Siegel's write-up's previously.

This one was after a numbing long list of Zeppelin lots. Nothing wrong with them, but, I can see how some might be asleep at that point.

Well, I have the dubious distinction of having a Siegel lot description written directly "at" me:
https://siegelauctions.com/lots.php...002-lot-3503

and yes, I did buy it:
