Me too. I consider it an investment in the financial well-being of the heir(s) to my collection. Imagine what all those expensive PME plate blocks will sell for in 10 to 20 years. Each one has a maximum lifetime of 2 years; most last only 1 year. Now if only my grandfather had gone to the 1893 Columbian Exposition and done the same with all the Columbians. I'd have something only Bill Gross has - mint NH plate blocks of the full set; maybe even sheets! |

i think finding the Exress Mail one actually used on a mailed item, and keeping it instact on package, would increase the value of it a lot! Just do NOT see used ones of these around. |

I certainly understand having a copy (used or unused) of the high value issues to keep a collection as complete as possible. Those thinking this will be a good investment I think are kidding themselves |

This is why I don't collect modern issues. I'd rather spend the $131.40 on a nice single classic stamp. :-) |

I hope rogdcam words are heard. If you don't stay with scarcity, nothing else will matter, as elsewhere will be everywhere.
Then you have demand. Noone will pay anything for your stamps, even if they are rare, unless people actually want them. |

eyeonwall - only modern plate number coils. My commemorative and definitive U.S. collection stops in the early 1970s. I find most modern American stamp lacking when compared to the classics. Just an opinion to which I say "to each their own". |

Well, as an alternative you could have used the money for a partial payment on tickets or expenses related to the Super Bowl and have little to show for it! |

There is a solution to the total cost being so high if you include the Priority and Express stamps. Don't let 2 stamps a year scare you off. Don't include them. |
