This appears to be what Scott labels image A5. It is embossed and unwatermarked, but a cut square, rather than a rouletted stamp. And Scott lists nothing as low as 1/2 schilling, nor anything this color. Is it a genuine item at all? If so, of what sort?

Hi Eric, it is a cut square from postal stationery, either a postal card or an envelope. You may find several of these on ebay in a variety of values and colors

It is a cut out from a souvenir sheet , the sheet of 6 different values was made in various colors by a private firm, some of the values on this sheet don't exist as real stamps .

I usually see these sheets cut up and the stamps are sold as HAMBURG ESSAYS .
