I Think My Stamp Is A Scott 596

My stamp is of the A155 design
it is perf 11
It measures 19 x 22.5

I took the experts advice and compared my stamp with several flat plate printings of the same design

My stamp is taller than the flat plate printings of the same design


i will try posting the other flat plate printings now

To get a better opinion here you'll need a much higher resolution scan. Try 600 dpi if you can.

Please include a scan of the back of the stamp too.

I have taken 5 or 6 photos of my stamp beside known flat plate printing and my stamp is taller than all of them.

I have green flat plate printings with green spots on the back that seem to line up with the design / boarders on the stamp and red flat plate printings with red spots that also line up with the stamps design.
on the back of the stamp I think may be a 596 there are some spots but they are not green and they look very different than the spots on the flat plate printings they look like very very small numbers written in pencil and they do not line up with the design or boarders on the stamp, I have been researching hidden messages under stamps and I am wondering if these marks could be some sort of secret message. Stranger things have happened lol

Lori - numbers written in the back of stamps are usually collectors' references to catalogue numbers or perforation measurements. I'm sure the US experts here would like to see a proper scan of your stamps, rather than tiny photographs.
