Hi manosp,

These are all the left or right halves of sales tax stamps.

This stamps with the shading behind the value are from 1924.

The other with a clear background to the value are from 1925-26.

The first column consists of:

- 10 piastres olive (left)

- 2 piastres blue (left)

- 1 piastre blue (left) x 2

The second column:

- 20 piastres olive (left)

- 50 piastres olive (right)

- 1 lira purple (right) 1926

The third column:

- 1 lira purple (left) 1925 or 1926

- 2 piastres blue (left)

- 20 piastres olive (right)

These right half stamps are overprinted "reserved for purchaser" in Turkish.

The first issue in each design appeared without this overprint.

I guess the right half was attached to a receipt and the left half was retained by the seller.

You're welcome manosp.

I've corrected the above post to read "1 lira" instead of "1 piastre" for the two stamps from 1925/26.
