Hi folks!

Well, this is a longish story.

I spent the first half of my life in Pennsylvania, where I started 'playing at' collecting stamps in grade school (read carefully licked each corner of my stamps to afix to the album), then really got interested again in my 20s. I collected US and a couple topicals, but waterfall stamps became my primary interest. That stretched to mid-30s when my job moved me to North Carolina. I still pretended to collect (read amassed a bunch of 'stuff', but did nothing with it), but I had sold the best part of my US collection to buy appliances for my first house -- and that was over 35 years ago. For the most part, there have been other things absorbing my attention and my waterfall stamps (and others) have mostly collected dust -- except for the items I scanned and posted back in '96/97, a year or so after I discovered the Internet.

Fast forward to a week ago when the mother of a 12 year old, new philatelist e-mailed me about a page her son had found online while researching stamp collecting. It contained a section of links that he thought should be posted on my waterfall page to make it more technical and youth friendly. :-) I had not touched that page in ten years and it took me a day or two to get it updated so I could post the new link(s). As part of refreshing the page, I scanned for sites that had linked to my page. That's how I found Stamp Community Family.

So here I find myself, perhaps getting my interest in philately back. I will at least scan and post some images in the Waterfalls on Stamps topic.

The rest we shall see...

All my best,
B.G.

Welcome B.G.

I have also been collecting off and on since grade school when a new teacher at my school started a stamp club. The club lasted only a few weeks, but I keep returning to this wonderful hobby over and over.

I look forward to hearing more about your waterfall collection.

Dale
