I saw this on ETSY and I can't get over it, is this for real? How does anyone know what stamp this is?

Hi,

Presumably, the albino impression indented the paper enough so that the stamp design could be determined.

Even with no ink on the paper, the design of the stamp can sometimes be figured out.

The Scott Specialized Catalogue of United States Stamps states about this error: "1731c is tagged and has a faint black tagging ghost. Authentication is advised." Colors are omitted, but the tagging wasn't.

Well, that would certainly be the dullest stamp in a collection!
