I have a plate block of scott #1431 Antarctic. My book shows the ' 8c ' in red. But my block has the ' 8 ' in red and the " c " in blue. The scan below is the same for all four stamps. What is the scott number for this ? If this is this an error, what is this type of error called? What is the value ?
HTx, Your scans show what happened - the blue plate has moved over the "8". As mentioned above this is fairly normal for the Giori presses although your stamps look like it was supposed to be that way. It may be worth a little to someone who collects EFO's but no one is going to get rich!
