I inherited several USPS commemorative mint sets from the late 1970's and early 1980's.
Any advice on how to sell them would be appreciated

I would suggest first that you look at similar items that have SOLD on ebay first. Unfortunately, most modern U.S. stamp sell for well below face value. A dealer would probably only give you about 30-50% of face value.
