I just ordered some bike "Niks", the label I received, had my name and Phone number clearly on the Label.

2 days later, and I have had 2 Australia Post scams, arrive on my phone.

Anyone know if it is the purchase docmentation requirement, or Australia Post directive?
Anyone else consider this dangerous? any similar experience?

That's weird... I typed in "eParcel" and it came loaded as Eparcel"

Hi Rod,

Only dangerous to the unaware or naive. Phone scams in this country are off the charts. You can always search the number through reverse australia but to keep the blood pressure down I just block the number.

Right. Thanks for that Bobby,
I have had, I think 3 scams in 10 years, so I guess not doing too badly.

I will email Velogear for their comments, also sent the scam to AustPost.

Rod! My email and home address has been sent all around the world over the last 10 years or so from selling stamps. Every time the list of emails are sold to the predators I am on it!

Each day begins with 2 or 3 scams and some are looking pretty good.I find myself deleting emails that are probably OK but I just do not trust. If I do not really know the person sending the email on that email address I nuke it. I have other emails that are only used by a small group of people. I like that privacy and would be asking Auspost please explain if it was one of my private email addresses on the outside of that box!

My wife also services my junk mail and apparently I get 6 or so marriage proposals a week along with a heap more scams.

kgv_stamps,
Your email address is posted online in Stamp News Australasia and on your website, this is a sure way to get spammed. If you do not want spam, never post your email address online. Instead use only PHP or other server-side online 'contact' forms which prevent bots and spiders from harvesting your email address for resale.

Folks can check for themselves to see if their email address is posted anywhere online; simply search for your email address in Google (use quotes around it to limit it to an exact match). Ideally you should get no search returns. If you do, contact the websites and get them to remove your email.

Don

Thanks Don

Have tried to get that email address down ever since it was put up without my permission I will add over 10 years ago. Very clear instruction were given that no email or address only my PO box can be used. He took my email address came from his own business info and never from me. Brings back some very bad memories.....

The owner (if he still is) will not move it. His whole deal is he is a loser! Big Time!

So I figured it out!

Its the blog that started me using a computer properly. My wife gave me a page and thats all I knew it was but it was a blog site. It is the 1st thing I did with a computer with any substance.

Have searched and searched and can not find it. The SCF KGV Stamps Explained shows up multiple times but not that blog site.

Your search ability is amazing Don!

Really nice to hear from you finches!

The power of goggle etc is frighting big time. The younger ones have everything they have done in their lives recorded on line for anyone to muck around with.
