I have this stamp with Australia and face value with different colors. Both stamps are 14 x 14.5.

I checked Stamp Smarter and Steve Irwin's site and Irwin indicates that there is a reprint. The plum color is shown on Stamp Smarter and also on Irwin's site for both the original and reprint.

Are there other reprints or am I missing something?

Dan

How unlucky are you ?
My Brusden White catalogue goes to August 1990, so I cannot advise.

Opinion,
when looking at varieties using used stamps, it is fraught with problems, you have no idea of the previous journey the stamps made.
It may have been soaked in a mild bleach solution, whom knows?

With reprints, generally speaking the details do not change, just the selvedge is added with a Koala or Kangaroo etc. (sometimes in differing shades)

Your stamp in my opinion is just been chemically or light affected.

The stamp in question does not appear in Australian stamp variations Decimal 1966-2006

Hi Dan

I have a section on Stamp Smarter showing some of my Australian Collection.

There were many reprints made of this stamp, as the stamps you show are used and obviously were soaked off paper, usually the soaking fades the ink.

Rod & Rob,

Thank you both for your answers.

I did check Stamp Smarter but could not find anything like my very 'rare' variety, LOL.

I was just curious and like you say must be due to soaking.
