Hello,

Could someone here tell me the best way to identify stamps, such as the Scott numbers? Is there an app that can be used for this?

Thank you,
Joe

Glad you asked. For U.S. stamps go to the stampsmarter website and use the all stamp finder. You can search by Scott's number, year or search through images to find the number. Not sure the best place for foreign stamps. Thanks Brian

Also the stampsmarter website has many more tools for us stamp identification including a Washington/Franklin identifier and printable perforation gauge just to name a few. There is no doubt.. with this website you will know exactly what you have.

Joe, mstamping led you to a great site for U.S.A. and now Canadian issues, and there are probably others out there. Also you can always check out your local library as they possibly have a set of Scott world catalogues you can use or borrow.

Hello Mstamping,
Thank you for your response. Looks like I'll be busy for a while with the Stampsmarter site.
