Very interesting read. Thanks. But unfortunately I do no know if it will make much difference.
Has anyone noticed that if you did get a purchase from China, that some of the packages are coming through other countries. I have received chinese packages with originating postmarks of China itself, Netherlands, England; and Hong Kong, which is part of China, according to Beijing. They will get around the higher rates by just shipping the container loads and warehouse elsewhere in third world countries, and post that mail from those lower paying countries.
And they are not alone in circumventing the system by using the more econimical countries from which to mail their stuff from. I have received mail from a larger Canadian corporation in the past, and you guessed it. It was mailed from the Netherlands. |

' <speculation>
If a Chinese shipper sent you a package via Netherlands or England, it was not because that was a cheaper route, but because they had space available on a container, and did not want to hold your item until they had a full container destined for Canada.

It could be the longer route with immediate available space was the cheaper route. |

28 days waiting was definetly "not wanting to hold up item."
And as ikey has mentioned, "speculation". I am speculating over why the packages went this route, but will never know for sure.
But it still does not explain mail from Toronto company being posted in the Netherlands. Unless, oh yes, contracting out. The work is done in Toronto, downloaded and printed and stuffed in envelopes and mailed from the Netherlands. |

. https://www.linns.com/news/world-st...-upu-members ... Linn's ... 190415 ... Postal remuneration concerns to be voted on by UPU members It occurs to me that, for example, if the per capita income in the US is >5x the per capita income in China, then the commensurately higher costs at the USPS require that 5/6 of the postage paid per parcel should go to the US, and only 1/6 to China. That's how this works, r-i-g-h-t ???Cheers, /s/ ikeyPikey |
