Getting too many claims from Overseas customers of demanding refunds after item was send thru regular mail . After today will not ship anything overseas without tracking . Lost business ? who cares, tired of getting jerked around .

This is everywhere Israel, Europe , Asia and Australia ,close to 1/3 of mailings have problems .Need my sanity and time more than the money ....Ebay and Paypal are no help and even go along with the buyer, my partner ARTHUR refuses to help me mail anything overseas. This is items he lists in the $5.00 to $50.00 range mostly complete sets or single stamps .

floortrader,
Welcome to my world... as a US dealer based in Japan 98% of what we ship is "overseas". We have an extensive list of blocked countries, but do sell to most. However, we had adopted a "registered or better" position about 5 years ago after ebay wouldn't provide any help for negative comments that were from buyers who were intentionally sabotaging us.

Welcome to the flea market that ebay really is... it's not a place to find value, it's a place to find masses.

Also buyers have learned not to file a complain with ebay, which tracks refund claims but they are going directly to Paypal which fails to tell ebay ,so no negative record is maintain in their system . This gives them a green light to file many refund claims and not get caught or shut down.

12 years Just 1 loss, my first ever trade, I sent to University in Yugoslavia.
Have a bunch of late mail from North America awaiting, been too long doing this to get fidgety, I assume they will always turn up.

One arrived today Montreal to Perth, my Postbox slip had "DNB"
on it (Postmistress had no idea)

I get it home, and see it backstamped ARARAT Victoria 11th April.

So it has gone to the wrong state, and taken 12 days to arrive here.........

DNB likely means "do not bend", but if the acronym fails to communicate among postal workers then what good is it?

Wow...thanks John, how obvious was that? Straight over my head.
I counted the amount of Boxed Red Ink Stamp on the Cover " Ne Pas Plier / do not bend" there were 8.
I was just assuming an internal code of staff.

I don't sell a huge amount of stuff abroad by any means, but I haven't lost any yet. Most goes by International Standard, with tracked/signed to a few countries (where the buyers often specify this themselves). Could there be a problem with USPS?

I lose 5 or 6 items a year and all are overseas shipments. I have a particular problem with Germany. I don't know how their customs process works but I get items returned that weren't claimed, I have people that refuse to go to customs to pick up items and I have people that say they weren't notified an item was at customs. I'm not shipping to Germany anymore, it's too much trouble.

KRelyea,
Well, at lest you get the items returned. I just had people rip me off... we used to put in "free" material. One guy in Ukraine claimed that we sent "only garbage" and took photos of the free material and submitted to ebay... we were forced to give full refund (and the item he bought WAS in there). After that we blocked Ukraine, and we stopped giving free items...

Interesting, have read of that before, not claiming a refund, but just complaining of the "rubbish" free material.
I still don't understand that.
