Sorry, no. It is what is called a (partial) color changeling. Blue made from indigo turns this buff color when chlorine bleach is applied. |

Is this original print failure or miscolored later? I am sorry to have removed it from the paperclip, but can add that it looked like this before that. View another stamp same from same catalog No. |

Miscolored later. This looks to be another accident or cleaning attempt with chlorine bleach. |

I can not agree. The stamp was in a great bunch with other german stamps on paper clips and has not been in contact with other fluid than water. |

If you are so sure, then why waste everyone's time asking?
Send it in for certification and let us know the result. Don

Thanks, I have learned here that somebody (all) may think my stamp is spoiled and there is nothing I can do about that. Therefore it will not be send to ebay. By the way, where could it be send to certification? And what will it cost? |

I would not bother with certification / expert report unless the stamp is more than $100 catalog value. Also, consider the free certification you are getting here from collectors that have been around the block... |

I agree with the others who commented that these stamps have changed color due to some chemical agent. |

https://www.bpp.de/en/home.htmlI believe the main expert for this issue is still Dr. Oechsner. Contact the expert before sending and read the submission rules. Minimum charge is usually €25 plus registered mail shipping both ways. Since you started this thread, it would be good of you to report the results of expertizing. Forgive us who do not believe that the stamp originally came from anywhere else before being paperclipped together with other stamps and who do not believe it was cancelled by the post office while in that group. |

Personally, I have used damaged postage, color changlings for postage on parcels. They have no other value than face at most, so I use them to their fullest potential.
They get cancelled and can end up looking similar to what has been shown. As well the cancel may not be as readily faded or lightened by light, uv or bleach. |

Spite someone may buy my damaged stamp without certificate, I have decided to drop it in the trash basket. Better to do that than get some error reporting to me or to next owner. |
