3193zd I don't know what to make of it. I have a few sheets of them and none appear to have a border similar to yours. Wish I could be more helpful. Image above is for comparison. |

3193zd - I looked through about 200 copies of this stamp from my USA stockbooks, and I found one that looks just like yours, fuzzy and shifted. I will add this stamp to my USA EFOs collection. Thanks for showing your stamp to us. I was unaware of this oddity. Linus |

I do not know. Perhaps someone else might know the printing process on this stamp. |

Not sure if its you scanner but the color on your text is much darker than mine like a magenta and mine is a carmine. do you see this color difference with your other stamps? |

My scanner distorts the color when I try to zoom-in to the maximum, the actual stamp is carmine just like yours.

There are two color variations for this issue. On the lower plate numbers, the ink for the words has more of a pinkish tint and appear brighter compared to the higher plate numbers. The gold border is also not as bright on the lower plate numbers. See the image below. Left stamp is from a low plate number and right is a higher plate number version. I have gaps right in the middle of the plate block series so I can't tell when the change might have occurred. I looked through what I have and I only see the doubling of the border on the higher plate block versions. I have numerous plate blocks and only found this effect on one of the A88 blocks. All the other A88 blocks and other numbers were fine. I posted used stamp image as it was a bit more dramatic than the one plate block. The border appears out of focus, but is not as you can see by looking at the text which is sharp (in focus). |

Hi Mystocky your doubling is different from mine and Linus. Ours is doubled right and up and yours is right and down! |
