Also, pretty much the lowest feedback percentage that I've ever seen.

Hmmm, appears that ebay is only calculating feedback within the last year.

Yes Don, that's been ebay policy for years now. It only takes into account the prior 12 months. So yeah, if he's had 2 transactions in the last 12 months, and one neg, he ends up with a 50% feedback. While that sucks for him, it's at least one thing ebay has done to combat against "feedback attacks" because that way at least the negatives drop off after 12 months (from % rating, though they are still visible as feedback in the detail, if you go through it all.)

Jim... hmmm does this constitute a whole new category of Out of Book "stamps"? :D
(You can feel free to kick me now).

Scott,
I did not realize that...

FYI, the ebay feedback system has been discussed ad nauseum in this forum for its total lack of usefulness bordering on scam. As someone with a QA/ISO background and as a person who has developed and implanted various seller/vender rating systems; I can tell you that ebay's feedback would never pass muster. It has huge flaws and really is nothing more than a marketing tool. ebay business model depends upon buyers be willing to 'buy sight unseen'. It is a conflict of interest for ebay to be in control of the Feedback system; a good system would be run by an independent entity which does not have anything to gain on the feedback scores.

As such, I stopped supporting the feedback system about 4 years ago. I do try to follow-up with sellers after I buy something using the ebay messaging system. Not limited to a handful of words, this approach allows me to give actual meaningful feedback.

Limiting the feedback system to a twelve month "look back" protects buyers by limiting the value of the pump-and-dump system, whereby an operator opens a store, sells something simple at a lowish price, racks-up the positive feedback, and then sells the store ... complete with thousands of positive feedbacks.

Good move, ebay!

Cheers,

Yes they are stamps. those of us who collect adhesive postage stamps are the ones who have it wrong. Penny blacks were officially called labels when issued in 1840. Any postal historian will show you a postage stamp that is not an adhesive piece of paper. I've also been caught out this way when looking on the net.

True.

The point is though, that these items were posted in this category:

which makes this title:

make a little more sense now, maybe?

Turff49, I believe that computer programs will sometimes do that, depending on how it was coded. As soon as a word is used as in "stamps" it fits into the classification, and will be crossposted.

There is no cross posting on ebay, other than you can manually select 1 other category for it to appear in at an additional fee as I recall...
