To avoid that, just use the ebay phone app. I use my phone app for all ebay purchases.

Hi everyone, very sorry, unable to replicate,
I turned off and went to bed, now cannot get it to happen.
I would search for an item on ebay, and a side panel would pop up, hiding part of the screen, advising me I had only X minutes/hours, to my watched item coming up for auction.
There may be 4 or 5 items in a vertical row.

That's not like me to take a screen grab...Sheesh.

Appreciate you responding to my post. Thanks.
If it does happen again, I'll hit Ducklink immediately.

This is not something new, as I have seen it off and on for quite a while. I suspect is a "feature" that was implemented and tested, but not ever [yet] fully accepted, and then rolled out to some of the servers hosting ebay users, but not all of them.

I see enough variation is the way ebay presents itself to me when I have to login again after rebooting my computer to believe that there is not just ONE VERSION of ebay software that everyone sees all the time, but many variants in various stages of testing as routine maintenance of the software takes place, and new versions are tested on us unsuspecting users.

Thanks MML,
nice to have it confirmed.
It was irritating in the extreme, I cannot see that happening.
I also deleted an email yesterday, inviting me to evaluate my browsing experience on ebay.
I wonder if the 2 are linked.

Hi Rod,

This has been happening for a long time. They are reminders that an item is ending soon and are automatically generated.

If you find an auction item with less than 24 hours to go and you put it on your watch list these annoying pop-ins happen pretty much straight away. There's no way to turn them off as far as I'm aware.

Just another bell/whistle to make your ebay experience more enjoyable

If you use Google Chrome, you can install Popup Blocker. Works pretty well.

I'm using firefox with popups blocked.

ebay, along with a myriad of other sites, are using pop-ins, that slide onto the screen. These aren't blocked by pop-up blockers. The only way I know to stop them is to disable scripts but most sites break in my experience when doing this.
