Can anyone tell me if either of theses are real? The reason I am suspicious os because the 4m seems to have a slightly coarser dot pattern.

yes, I have others that are obviously fakes that are marked privater nachdruk on the back, but the question is whether the two above are fakes or not. |

Unless this is a trick question, in which case these would be 2 photographs, these look like photogravure printings. The top stamp is slightly out of focus, so the characteristic etched cels cannot be seen, but still, it would be a task beyond technical expertise to make a fake (offset printing) like this, I believe.
To make extra sure, one should check the watermarks. |

Perhaps I am incorrect, but all of the stamps I see in floortrader's reference collection appear to be offset printings.
The 4m stamp (original post) does appear to be a little coarse, but I be seen some variation in the print quality with these. So, watermarking is always necessary. |

Duh! It didn't occur to me that fakes would not have a watermark. Both of them do have the "network" watermark. So both will be headed to an ebay near you tomorrow, probably separately since the 2m has a crease. |
