What is a Nm ? Nanometer ? The light you need depends on what you want to do. Tagging on US stamps is detected with a short wave UV light. To check for paper types, Hibrite paper, repairs etc you need a long wave UV light. It is as simple as that,
I bought my son a small UV black light for use with his rock and mineral collection. I use it for checking tagging on stamps as well. Think it was $10-15 on Amazon. That was quite a while ago, but it still works well.
365-375 nanometers (longwave black light) will show Canadian tagging and paper flourescence.
Since your probably doing mainly U.S. stamps, good for Great Britain too!, or minerals, you will need the 245 nanometer shortwave lamp as suggested by Peter.
You can buy the combination lamp for ease of use for any situation.
I use an old lighthouse brand of both the lw and sw. I collect USA plate number coils. They work fine and are portable, but not very powerful. Good for shows.
I too would like to know what brands do people recommend based on actual usage?
