Does anyone know if the French Post Office La Poste issue their own FDCs and what year they started to do this if so? Do they still make them? I visited their website but could not see any FDC for sale. thanks

As I understand it, the first FDC envelope was Celebrities of the Revolution on 10 July 1950. There is a catalogue

You have to look in the link below under "Phil info" The selling dates of FDCés can be found in their articles.These are quiet expensive and
collecting one from every issued stamp will cost a fortune...

The French post does not sell directly FDC's .The FDC's are sold in different locations
corresponding the stamps history,origin of the stamps ;topic in question.
So yes; FDC's exist today for French stamps.
