I did not know that "Dormant" being the operative word.
Don't know a great deal about the area, best I have done was researching "coaling stations" some years ago.

Not before, Geoff, I tried to source her book on Turkey, but Postage prevents a purchase ($30 from US) I'll try the Library .

(I winced when I read she lost part of her scalp in a machine, a similar thing happened to a fellow, whilst in my apprenticeship)

Very generous Geoff, however I was looking for this one,
Can be had for $19 US but $30 postage.
Perth Library may have it, I can spend a morning there and scan any relevant pages.

Ah, looks like a large format illustrated volume (hence Thames and Hudson). Seems to be entitled Gateways and Caravans in the US. Worth seeing if the library has Orhan Pamuk's Istanbul, which is a lovely book.
