Have this envelope in my possession with a postmark from the city of Chanawan. Sofar I have not been able to locate this town. I did find some other envelopes postmarked in this location. Anyone know under what name it is know nowadays?
Egyptian locations are difficult because there are sometimes several spelling variations.
There was an inauguration trip circa 1893 for the opening of the railway line to Menouf by the Khedive Abbas Hilmi II. ("Khedive" is a ruler of Egypt from 1867 to 1914 governing as a viceroy of the sultan of Turkey).

Menuf (Menouf), is a city in Egypt located in the Nile Delta
