Any Suggestions For Software Tools For Stamp Collectors And Sellers?

I started collecting 2 years ago and I'm currently using excel to track my purchases. I have not sold anything to date but will want to someday.

I wanted to ask the board if there are other software tools to suggest for this activity? I'm willing to pay money for value. Ideally a program that can incorporate a scan and facilitate future selling activity (i.e., invoicing with scans/inventory tracking/profit or lost on transaction). Any suggestion what to look into?

Back a few years ago I used Liberty. I can't say I loved or hated it, but I stopped using it, because it just was not really effective.
I know they've continued to develop it, so maybe it's improved, but it was essentially a Access database with a kind of clunky VB front end.

Stamp Manage (Liberty) supports purchasing/selling data. If the app does not have the report you want or need, you can develop your own custom reports (requires Access).

But the most salient point is that this product does NOT use an encrypted database.

The true cost of a app like this is the amount of time you invest in entering YOUR data; the retail cost of the software is a small fraction of your time. There are some stamp apps which are great but use an encrypted database; this gives you fewer choices in migrating and/or porting your data in the future.

Note: Liberty has by far the worse support that I have seen in many years. If you are a user who relies upon support then this product is probably not for you.

I am a current user of Stamp Manage. It does include a lot of stamp data (catalog numbers, images, prices) but not anywhere near complete. I do not pay attention to the prices.

As Don mentioned, one key benefit to me is that it has information and do not need to retype it in. I actually contribute back to StampManage to improve completeness (added over 3000 changes).

As for "invoicing with scans/inventory tracking/profit or lost on transaction)", it does capture images and track cost (buy/sell) but not sure how good it is since do not use that aspect.

I have no issue with the interface. It is very straightforward and find the organization structure better than some other programs.
