The lower stamp commemorates, I think, the opening of the new hotel after the original building was destroyed by fire.

Interesting philatelic juxtaposition.

The upper stamp bears cancellation of the original SH. Which believe dates back to the mid 1800s.

It was destroyed by fire in1952.

A new hotel (lower stamp) bearing same name was built approx half mile away in 1957.

.
Nice, indeed, but don't stop now!

Postcards & menus & other ephemera of Cairo's Shepheard's Hotel abound.

Cheers,

/s/ ikeyPikey (who holds that, if you don't want to spend the money, you can just print the scans of the ephemera, and add them to your album)

Temple not Hotel.
KOM OMBO
( Believe Script "CASH" on Pmk, used for cancelling stamps on receipts and Packets / envelopes handed over the counter)

Part strike: Script "STATION" in lower half.
Seen with Railway Stations, Bus Ports, and Seaport Terminals.
I also have a part strike with lower half "RESEVOIR"
