Cartoons From The Stamp Wholesaler!

My father subscribed to The Stamp Wholesaler for a lot of years. It was a glossy magazine issued twice monthly and my preferred philatelic reading material while Linn's and Western Stamp Collector just piled up. Lucius Jackson, its publisher, put out a good magazine -- with articles and even cartoons -- among the pages and pages of dealer to dealer ads. He collected the world in many volumes of Minkus Supreme Global Albums, but is almost certainly not with us anymore. Maybe I should scan his photo.

I've been re-reading a few of the old things, recently. Two of the hot issues of the time (mid-60's), both in articles and in letters to the editor, were 'COLINSPECS,' the collector, investor, speculators who were driving up prices on certain stamp issues of the time, notably Western Europe, Vatican City, and the United Nations (of all things!) while raiding the stock of unsuspecting dealers; also whether or not dealing in stamps from the Soviet block was helping the commies supply the bullets that were killing American servicemen in Vietnam.

Here are a few of their old cartoons that some of you may also enjoy seeing. I might even post more at another time if warranted.
