As I do not collect Bahamas, I'm requesting some information on this stamp, specifically the overprint. I'm thinking that it may state the name of a Canadian bank.

Is the overprint a normal use for a business on a Bahamian stamp or is it a form of government approved cancellation.

Wild Considered Guess:
Not an overprint or a cancellation.
Possibly an internal register (hand stamp) of postage receipt of international correspondence. I cannot read the Bank to which it belongs. CIBC ?

... which has at least one branch in the Bahamas. With a 3c stamp, this might just be local usage (and uncancelled); we'll never know. But I echo Rod's guess.
