I purchased this because of the location it was mailed to. I am going to safely assume I have the most common stamp and that it is Scott 26.

Am I missing something obvious to you more experienced stamp gurus?

A better image of the stamp would be nice. Based on the image you have provided, it is highly unlikely to be anything other than a Type III, Scott #26. Dated contents of covers can also be extremely helpful with identifying stamps.
