It is not uncommon for an auction house to be the best around because of that one unknown worker that smooths out all the failings.
Typical of many business really. The best worker that is not recognised for how important they are to making the business special.
Status auctions is an example. If Sabine leaves that work place it will fall apart. Does this auction house know this? Egos get in the way and that probably means no! |

Lots at an auction in Connecticut could not end up in a catalog sent via Fedex from Europe. It has nothing to do with one employee. Something does not compute. |

This whole story is going to fall apart once someone from the auction house makes a respond . |

THIS was how SOME of my lots from the auction firm were sent (uninsured, standard US mail; tucked INSIDE the pages of a catalogue): The reference to FED-EX, and the photo I previously posted, was for the catalogue mailed just last week, well after I started posting here. The signed-for FED-EX envelope contained NO auction lots, just an auction catalogue. They emailed me the following invoice, for only one lot now, a few days ago (5-13-19), and my response to them follows. My response to their email above refers to the last FED-EX (signed-for) I ever received CONTAINING AUCTION LOTS, was LAST year, when they shipped lots the way I had been accustomed. Confusing, I know. I could never make this up. |

This is just so, so very strange. I would not be satisfied until I spoke with David Coogle. He absolutely should talk with you. To not do so is inexcusable. Things do happen but they need to be dealt with.
My next step would be certified mail return receipt requested to David Coogle. |

Yup. Done that, sent a small personal "thank you" type card to Mr. Coogle so it should stand out. I'm assuming he is traveling. Will post results as I get them.

Apparently, Kelleher may be having their catalogues printed and definitely shipped from Hong Kong. I just returned from a three week trip to find phone messages from both Fed-Ex and Kelleher regarding their inability to deliver to deliver a catalogue from Hong Kong because it required my signature. |

The reply from Kelleher in the other forum... Quote: Hello fellow enthusiasts:
I would like to preface with the obvious fact that we are all quite passionate about this hobby that we love. It's important to keep in perspective that this is indeed a hobby for many of us. We have a deep connection to the past and thus we hold sacred what we're slowly losing through the generations.
I'm one of the lucky ones, for I get paid to work with stamps all day long. I am the Director of Client Services at Kelleher Auctions in Danbury CT. I have been working for this company for over 5 years and have performed in numerous positions. We strive for perfection in everything we do, albeit how impossible that sounds.
We also make mistakes along the way, but we learn from them and grow into a better more efficient team. More importantly, we take pride in our presentation and this of course includes our packaging.
The gentleman in question here, is indeed a client. Unfortunately, I was informed of the issue by a colleague after reading a complaint on this site. So, that was unfortunate. To echo an earlier post "an email to us would have sufficed".
After reaching out and speaking with the client, I became even more befuddled. Claims of lots shipped in unusual packaging and other tracking inconsistencies. I surmised that this client wanted us to ship his lots prior to payment by fogging the waters. A technique I see every now and again.
We called it "bamboozling", back in the day. On a similar note, after contacting the American Philatelic Society, because of my concern regarding this gentleman's comments, I learned he was no longer a member due to non-payment. The puzzle was coming together to form an unflattering landscape.
The lots in question, are now on my desk. And yes, all of them. I would call it a successful day receiving a catalog with anonymous stamps included, as he so stated
It's my job to solve the issues, however there was nothing to resolve. I can only surmise this gentleman wanted some drama to share, so it was concocted, or perhaps he just wanted something for free.
We treat all of clients and potential clients with the upmost respect and dignity, as our mantra dictates: "we treat others the way we want to be treated". Unfortunately, not always reciprocated.
I am a real person and am available for anyone with a question, concern or issue regarding an order, consigning, upcoming auctions, our magazine or just chat about the lovely Canadian geese outside my window: info@kelleherauctions.com
EOM I am unsure of the intent the original poster had with Kelleher and then spreading the drama in several online communities. We shall just move on without him. Don |

It is baffling behaviour - people should always try to work things out between them as opposed to shouting from the rooftops to the internet... |
