Scott 283 Oddity - Stitch Marks.

Looking at a block of Scott 283, I came across something I coud not explain..Any opinions.

Here is a booklet of Scott 306a-b stitched..Normal.


Now here is my Scott 283 block..Look closely, there are seems to what looks like stitch marks at the top of the block..Very odd..Opinions..??

The second one looks like staple holes. Not sure about the first.

Staple holes make sense on the Halifax commemoratives if the postal people broke a full pad into smaller batches. If this were the case, then the sheets away from the top of the stack would not have the pressure line between the two ragged holes.

The King George VI stamps are from a booklet pane, Unitrade BK41b. The booklets were stitched at the left. The holes on the selvedge of the Halifax stamps are staple holes from the staple holding the panes in a pad of stamps as issued to a post office.
