Just looking at this mint Scott 59 and to my surprise, it has lots of oddities on it.

MY SCOTT 59


1 - Next, look at the GREEN arrows show a "ductor bade" flaw.
2 - Next, look at the RED arrow shows "engraver slip".


1 - Next, look at the GREEN arrows shows another "ductor bade" flaw.


1 - Next, look at the BLUE arrows show "horizontal line".


1 - Next, look at BLUE arrows shows another "horizontal line".


1 - Lastly, look at the RED circle, possible "re-entry".

I don't believe "Doctor Blade" flaws occur on 19th century engraved stamps. Most likely layout lines lightly scribed onto the blank plate for aligning the die for transferring the image to the plate.
