I guess a long time ago when people would write letters they would put an address on the front and an address on the back. In the US we usually put both addresses on the front.

Can someone help me figure out who is the sender and the receiver of this letter? Thank you.

Front

Back

Thank you.

The norm is for the return address to be written on the back - as in this case. Both written by the sender.

OK, thank you.
Can you make out the name on the back of the envelope?
Joseph Wilches?

Oh great, thank you. Joseph Wilches. He was writing to German painter, Ernst Thoms. Amazing painter. I was hoping it was going to be Thoms handwriting.
