*BUMP* Like the early US 1851-57 1c Franklins, someone has long ago identified the details and provided drawings or photos of actual stamps. So you have to have those as a reference if you don't have all the genuine stamp types. The stamps of the Federal Issues have 40 subjects per sheet if I'm not mistaken, so there are that many different types, different in individual details. The real test is plating the stamps where squiggles and major details then must match one type exactly. The one thing that will fool that test is a high quality photographic forgery as done by Sperati. But even there, thankfully, there are points that are different from the original.
