Wondering about the precancel on this stamp. To the naked eye the D looks like a B due to excess ink/smearing. Under magnification it is clearly a simple case of smudging. My question for the precancel collectors/specialists pertains to the orientation of the precancel itself. I've seen them upside down, sideways, and normal. Among precancel collectors is the orientation of the precancel an issue, or are they acceptable in all forms. Is the normal orientation preferred over the sideways/upside down variety?
