Are These Scott #279? Just Learning

I am just learning just won't to confirm these , if I can get the pictures to load.I think these are #279 also are any #279 valuable? I have several all on covers.

I will partially disagree. The majority of the on-cover examples will indeed have modest value, but the "postal history" aspect of the full covers has the potential to make them worth considerable money due to the cancel, sender, recipient, ads, enclosures, etc. The 1 cent stamp tends to get used on 3rd class ad circulars (junk mail) and has a low survival rate. Do not remove the stamps from the covers. Try posting scans of a few covers you find most interesting.

Thanks everyone for the great info.My next question was going to be if I should I take the stamps off the covers ,but that has already been answered. I will put some pictures on with covers when I can.I am very computer illiterate, computers also hate me.Also the stampsmarter.com is a great place I have learned a lot their already. US279 value on cover can be quite expensive (as noted) depending on it's use, e.g., used in China during the Boxer Rebellion can easily be over $1,000; and it's overprinted "cousins" (Cuba, Guam, Puerto Rico, Philippines) can be pricy as well.
