Over 40 year period collected 4 shown. Never found out if/what P.O. was responsible OR if other values/stamps from that period were involved. Wondering if members have similar cancels & shed some light for reason, which may have been broken hand canceller.
Funny, they remind me of some different wigs and helmets. 1st looks like a bald spot coverup. 2nd looks like a whole long haired headpiece. The 3rd looks like the fur helmet worn by the palace guards, but on the King backward, and the fourth is a top and front area rug.
into the 1970s British post offices used offered the customers an ink well and a "dip" pen towrite with while in the post office, if you weren't careful and skilled you could drip ink or make blots, perhaps Australia had the same system. could they be such boring thing as accidental ink blots?
