Watermark Orientation On St Kitts & Nevis Stamp

I have a stamp with a sideways watermark. Based solely on the perf I identified it as Scott 86a. According to the website below this particular stamp can be difficult to accurately identify. I was hoping to find mention of watermark orientation but couldn't find it in Scott or the very informative website below. Anyone familiar with this particular issue who could tell me if this watermark orientation is common for this issue? Appreciate any assistance offered.

Unfortunately the stamp has a defect obvious to all.

I checked the half dozen or so that I have of the design and the watermarks are the same orientation, even the same direction.

I just checked my 2014 SG Commonwealth catalogue and it lists the watermark as:

Wmk Mult Script CA (sideways on T 8 and 9).

Yours looks to be type 8.

Thank you. I found the issue featuring KGV were watermarked sideways. The watermark orientation of this particular issue isn't mentioned anywhere I looked. Your examples were of this issue?

My examples were George VI stamps as you showed and linked to in the OP.

Gibbons notes the George V stamps to have sideways watermarks for both watermark types.

The sideways watermark is normal for this issue. So I guess if you want a rarity, you have to look for one that is upright.

Thank you. Recently heard exactly the same thing from an expert on this issue. I had previously been under the impression that sideways watermarks were uncommon but I was mistaken. Learning something new everyday in this hobby.

Normally you would be correct about the watermarks. It is just in this case that is not correct.
Keep looking for them on other stamps.

Neither my 20th edition Murray Payne or 2019 SG British commonwealth & Empire stamps even mention any watermark orientation other than what is shown.

Sideways watermarks appear to be more common than I'd previously thought. Stumbled across another one. Scott catalog is no help on this one either.

Watermark sideways is the norm for this issue. No upright watermark examples are known.
