Wonder where all this came from. Is this all the stuff that these "dune countries" did not sell ?

Probably Mr Kenny's warehouse. Doubt if anyone in the Trucial States ever saw his products.

I think the storage cost on this junk is way in excess of any possible value it might have.

It probably can't even be recycled due to toxic chemicals in all the ink.

Maybe surprising, but almost everything issued before the postal contract expiration in early 1972 (except the silver/gold foil stamps and souvenir/mini sheets) is known to have made it to UAE post offices.

They weren't used as postage very often for obvious reasons, though. The many issues picturing nudes, for example, were not permitted on mail without either trimming the naughty bits away, or carefully scribbling over the nudity with a marker. Commercially used examples sell for more money than you or I would probably want to pay.

Of course, about half of the Dunes issues (in particular, the numerous silly "small format" issues) only appeared after the postal contract expired, and those are 100% bogus. If they didn't catch the ire of Disney lawyers they might have continued issuing those for years.

My first thought was that Mrs FloorTrader had emptied the attic or garage, and he hadn't even noticed.

My second thought was that we should start an online campaign to buy that lot, and burn it.

Cheers,
