Have two purchases on Hipstamp that have not been shipped 3 weeks after payment/purchase (I always pay immediately.)
The response from one seller was "Thank you for your message.
I have been having problems with my medication which has prevented me from dealing promptly with my orders.
I have turned on the extended vacation setting so that I can catch up.
I will let you know when it ships, and I hope that is acceptable."
The other responded "No, because I am awaiting a resupply of one of the airmail sets. I should be mailing in a day or two."
I requested a refund from both, and have received no response from either in the 4 days since I asked the for a refund.
Thanks!

I was under the impression that a seller is supposed to show a picture of the actual item being sold. How can you sell something you do not have ?

Three weeks is ridiculous. If I were the buyer, I would not wait any longer to file a non-receipt with PayPal. If the items show up after a PayPal refund you can always return them or re-initiate payment to the seller. |

It depends on the individual circumstances. Both sellers were courteous enough to responded to your inquiry. The ball is then in your court as to whether you believe their reply, how badly you want the items, any past business relationship value, etc. Canceling an order will likely will likely find you blocked from future purchases from them. That said, I would be patient with the first seller who appears genuinely honest and would ask for a refund from the second seller who seems shady at best. |

"I requested a refund from both, and have received no response from either in the 4 days since I asked the for a refund." Thought at least one or both would have responded to that...

Personally, if it has been 3 weeks and neither has shipped, open item not received claims in Paypal on both. |

Hold your horses . Three weeks is not enough time ,the sellers both have poor communications skills ,both should give you the shipping date and not give you a song and a dance. |

Not sure I understand the comments as the 2 parts seem to contradict? |

How would things go if you did not pay as a buyer for three weeks? You know the answer. File a claim. You did your part when you gave them your money. The same people urging patience would be pitching a fit if they paid for a television at a store and three weeks later they had nothing. |

I agree with Peter. They shouldn't sell the item if they don't have it. |

I would file a non delivered items claim. I might end up having to do that with a ebay purchase. Mine has been 10 days since payment. Sent 3 email no replay and has gotten 6 negative feedback since the payment for non delivered items. |

Did file a non-delivered claim on both. Would rather have the stamps, but if sellers can't bother to respond, not sure what else can be done. |

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE , the lack of responds should be noted in the negative feedback .
Just a side note ---The mailing of lots ----I am a old time mail order dealer back to the 1970's thru 1990's . I would receive a paper check from a customer and usually wait 2 to 3 weeks to let the check clear the banks . I had many checks that were returned thru the banking system up to a month later as NSF or account closed and just ate the lost but it was not unusual to wait 2 or 3 weeks to be sure you had good money . So it is not hard to say WAIT 2 OR 3 WEEKS before getting your underwear in a bunch and start crying . |

I agree with John Becker on this, the first one sounds fine, the second one dubious. Shouldn't be selling something they doesn't have. First one I'd cut some slack - their explanation sounds reasonable.
But of course a moot point, as you've already proceeded with non-delivered claim. |
